LWALA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE, KENYA
HOMA BAY, KENYA - Lwala Community Alliance Managing Director Julius Mbeya felt powerless in the face of the healthcare system after watching brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews die, but now he works with our partner Lwala Community Alliance and their model has been identified as a best practice towards delivery of universal health coverage.
STREET BUSINESS SCHOOL, UGANDA
KAMPALA, UGANDA - Street Business School is on a mission to end generational poverty by empowering women as entrepreneurs. Their goal is to reach 1 million women by 2027.
NYAKA AIDS ORPHANS PROJECT, UGANDA
KAMBUGA, UGANDA – 43,000 orphans of Uganda's AIDS epidemic are now in safe, loving homes thanks to the 7,300 grandmothers recruited by the Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, founded by Twesigye Jackson.
DANDELION AFRICA, KENYA
NAKURU COUNTY, KENYA - Dandelion Africa, founded by Wendo Aszed, works in marginalized areas, empowering girls to be leaders and educating boys to be fierce advocates for women's rights.
SERVICE YEZU MWIZA, BURUNDI
BUJUMBURA, BURUNDI – Dr. Nshimirimana Tharcisse works through political violence and a 40% cut in international funding to provide healthcare to Burundi's most vulnerable populations.
PASTORAL WOMEN’S COUNCIL, TANZANIA
ARUSHA, TANZANIA – Pastoral Women’s Council empowers Maasai women at the community level to take control of their own development. PWC supports 3,000 women in approximately 90 villages across three districts.
KAJO KEJI HEALTH TRAINING INSTITUTE, UGANDA
YUMBE, UGANDA – Kajo Keji Health Training Institute addresses the severe shortage of medical personnel in South Sudan by training quality health care workers. They believe that by educating South Sudanese locally, they can have an immediate positive impact in their surrounding communities.
SOLID’AFRICA, RWANDA
KIGALI, RWANDA – Solid Africa, founded by Isabelle Kamariza, provides aid to the most vulnerable patients of Rwandan public hospitals.
RAYS OF HOPE, MALAWI
BLANTYRE, MALAWI – Rays of Hope Ministries is a local faith-based organization in Malawi that responds to educational challenges through a variety of programs designed to help children complete primary school, youth graduate secondary school and young adults attain economic independence.
